Hi - I have searched these forums and found people split over wether or not to enable journaling. I am about to reformat/install Panther on my HD which will be used exclusively for PT LE and my DIGI 001 - should I enable journaling? I know DD recommends you don't, but some have noted that any performance decrease would be minimal in LE, while others have flat-out said not to enable journaling. Any more advice would be appreciated! Also, can journaling be disabled from a drive that already uses it? Thanks!
i posted the same question a hile back, I would rather not use the journaling, take no chances. If you're using the HD for the application for PT, journaling is fine, but for the dedicated audio drive it is definitely best with no journaling.
there is no difference in LE sessions, because required data throughput in heaviest LE-session is not that high and the journaling performance hit is really not big deal at all. i'd think again if i had a HD system and used 100 audio tracks in a session.
