H/W Buffer size issue...again

MessageAuthor

Hi all, First off, my system is a dual core Athlon 4800 w/ 2 gigs of ram. When I first installed PT 7.0, I kept getting this message EVERY TIME I started a new session: "Audio processing is conflicting with other CPU tasks. If this occurs often, try reducing the "H/W Buffer Size" in the playback engine dialog may help prevent the problem (-9129)" Now, when I reduce from 1024 to 512, then I would work, but when I turn to a new session, I would get the same error, this time it would be "...try increasing the H/W Buffer size..." Sooo, I called up digidesign's support, and they sent me a fix for Athlon dual core processors. The fix is located here: So, with the fix, I don't get the message when I turn on the session, HOWEVER, it will come up RANDOMLY in the middle of a session all of a sudden, and it's really annoying... Has anyone encountered this issue? If you were able to fix, your input will be VERY appreciated Thanks! Mony

Well, same problem with intel core duo processor over here..... so many people got these problems...digidesign really should find a solution to this..... so let's keep these threads alive until they come out with a solution...

well i find you need to increase it for a crap load of plug-ins, but generally you want it as small as possible for monitor latency purposes. which plug-ins are you using and how many? maybe try using subs if ur not already.
